Woodside Farm will have three trotting bred yearlings for the Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale, that gets underway Friday, Oct. 21. The sale kicks off with one of their yearlings as Hip No. 2, a filly by Swan for All.

Woodside Farm will sell three top bred trotters at the Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale, starting off with the second horse on opening day of the sale Friday, Oct. 21.
Woodside Hallie will be the second horse through the ring to kick off the Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale. The filly is the fourth from the Jailhouse Jesse mare Jailhouse Diva, who took a mark of 1:56.1 during her career and was an Indiana Sires Stakes winner. She has already produced a nice colt, Jailhouse Dance, who has a mark of 1:55.1 taken at two this season. He joins his mom as an Indiana Sires Stakes winner.
The breeding doesn’t stop with the first dam of Woodside Hallie. The second dam is the mother of the great Measuredperfection, who has a mark of 1:53.1 and more than $350,000 in earnings. Several other winners are listed all the way down the page to show the depth of the breeding for Woodside Hallie.
The second yearling to sell for Woodside Farms is a Swan for All colt listed as Hip No. 151. Woodside Hank is also well-bred, the son of Silvia, a Muscle Hill mare with a mark of 1:56.2. He is the third foal and she has already produced a winner this year in Famous Dan, who took a mark of 2:00.2 but was timed in 1:56.1. The second dam is My Favorite Chip by Pine Chip, and she has produced the millionaire Adrian Chip, who has a mark of 1:54.2 and more than $1.1 million in earnings racing on the Grand Circuit. She has also produced a full brother to Silvia in Yes Mickey, who has a mark of 1:51.2 and more than $622,000 in earnings.
The final yearling for Woodside Farm is Woodside Howie, selling as Hip No. 184. The colt is from the second crop of Dover Dan and is out of the tough race mare Topville Martini, who has a mark of 1:55.3 and more than $118,000 in earnings. Woodside Howie is her second foal and her first, Woodside Grenade, raced this year at two and was timed in 2:00.1. The second dam shows several winners but looking down to the third dam is where one’s eye is caught.
The third dam, Margarita Miss, who has a mark of 1:56 and made more than $141,000, is the dam of Rum Boogie, the Grand Circuit winner who was named 2YO Trotting Filly of the Year in 1998. She ended her career with $900,000 in earnings and has been equally impressive as a broodmare. She has produced Mambo Lindy (1:51.4, $272,000) and Bacardi Lindy (1:52.4, $200,000) just to name a few.
Woodside Farm yearlings are located in Aisle 27 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. A preview was held Thursday to get a last look at the yearlings before the sale begins.
