Woodside Farm of Wolcottville, Ind. started their yearling sales early. They have already sold five at the new Northern Indiana Speed Sale in early September, have one headed to the Lexington Select Yearling Sale and will have seven ready for the Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale Friday, Oct. 22 and Saturday, Oct. 23.
Kicking off the lineup at the Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale for Woodside Farm is Woodside Geico, a brown gelding by Swan for All. The yearling is from the 100 percent producing mare Diamond Peak, who is a half-sister to two with earnings in excess of $300,000, Gruden and Harbor Point. Woodside Geico is a half brother to St Martins (1:55.3, $48,000) and Pass Key (1:55.3, $18,000). Woodside Geico sells at Hip No. 44.
Another entrant from the Woodside Farm consignment is Woodside Gusher, a colt by Dover Dan. The colt will sell as Hip No. 128 and is the third foal out of Jailhouse Diva, former Indiana Sires Stakes winner. The second dam of Woodside Gusher is the dam of Measuredperfection, Indiana Sires Stakes winner of more than $347,000 with a mark of 1:53.1.
Woodside Farm will head to Kentucky with an impressive entrant as the full brother to Woodside Charm will sell in the Lexington Selected Sale the first day of action Tuesday, Oct. 5. Woodside Gearshift follows in the footsteps of Woodside Charm, who is a Breeders Crown winner and has earned over a half million dollars. He is also a brother to Explosive Matter, who has earned over a million dollars with a best mark of 1:52.3. Woodside Gearshift, a nice-looking big colt by Chapter Seven, will sell as Hip No. 116.
