The Indiana Horse Racing Commission (IHRC) will once again host an exhibit in one of the Speed Barns during the Indiana State Fair beginning Friday, Aug. 2. They are asking for volunteers to come in and help run the exhibit, which was a popular stop on the fair circuit last season.

The exhibit will include all types of literature on Standardbred racing as well as equipment and history of the sport. The biggest draw is the addition of racehorses in the stalls and the IHRC plans to have at least two horses on display at all times again in 2019. The horses were a great addition to the exhibit last year.
Volunteers are still needed for several time slots, including the final week of the fair Tuesday, Aug. 13 – Friday, Aug. 16. Both Joyse Bannister and Megan Arszman of the IHRC will be on hand most of the time to answer questions and oversee the exhibit, but extra help is needed to provide the space to fair goers.
Volunteer time slots still available are as follows:
Friday, Aug. 2 – extra help for the opening day of the exhibit
Friday, Aug. 9 – three volunteers needed
Monday, Aug. 12 – one to two volunteers needed
Tuesday, Aug. 13 – one to two more volunteers needed
Wednesday, Aug. 14 – three volunteers needed
Thursday, Aug. 15 – three volunteers needed
Friday, August 16 – three volunteers needed
The volunteer hours are 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. during the week and 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. on weekends. Each volunteer will receive ISF tickets and a parking pass.
