A total of 10 qualifiers have been assembled at Harrah’s Hoosier Park Tuesday, May 19. The program marks the first round of action since the shutdown took place in mid-March for Standardbred racing due to Covid-19. Qualifiers will begin at 12 p.m. and horsemen and horsewomen are urged to arrive earlier than usual to pass through extended safety procedures set in place.

Several standouts are included in the first round of qualifiers including TJ’s Top Pick, Indiana’s two-year-old trotting champion of 2019. The sophomore son of Swan for All from the Jeff Cullipher barn will begin from post four in the sixth race of the day with Trace Tetrick at the controls.
Qualifiers are limited to 90 entries with preferences to Indiana sired horses given. Also, trainers who are allotted stalls at Harrah’s Hoosier Park or have made at least 10 starts at the track in 2019 also receive second preference. No out of state ship ins are allowed for the qualifiers.
Those participating in qualifiers should expect additional safety measures during the program. Two lines of check-in will be provided at the stable gate to assist in accommodating those coming in for the races.
