Skyway Brittney and John DeLong took off for an impressive win Saturday, June 3 at Harrah’s Hoosier Park in the $16,000 Fillies and Mares Open 3 Pace. The Indiana sired mare was a winner in 1:50.1, recording a new lifetime mark.

Skyway Brittney left the gate with some speed and secured the two hole early behind race leader Lady Angel and Tyler Miller. They followed along through fractions of :26.2 before Skyway Brittney moved out and around to the lead, passing by the half in :54.4. There was very little action moving among the opponents of the race.
Around the final turn, Skyway Brittney began to open up on the field, pacing home in :27 seconds flat for the win by seven lengths. Northern Storm and Michael Oosting closed in late for second over Lady Angel for third.
Skyway Brittney paid $6.20 for the win. The Rockin Image daughter is owned by Zach and Dessa Miller. Lyle Slabach bred the five-year-old mare, who earned her second win of 2023.
After going winless as a two-year-old, Skyway Brittney came back at three to win seven races and more than $100,000. She returned last season to win four more races, and now she has 13 career wins with more than $238,000 in earnings.
Skyway Brittney was purchased by the Millers for $6,000 at the Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale. She is a half sister to the standout older pacer Skyway Ballistic, who is still racing and has earned more than $250,000 in earnings with a career mark of 1:51.1.
Another impressive winner on the night was Wild Rosa from the Kim Roth barn. The four-year-old daughter of Aracache Hanover mare led the field gate to wire for the win, a final quarter in :26.4. Wild Rosa won by a neck over Ever A JK and Trace Tetrik. Majors Miracle and Don Eash finished third.
Wild Rosa paid $13.60 for the win. The mare is owned by Roth and was bred by Paul and Cathy Webb. It was the first win of the year for Wild Rosa, who also scored a new lifetime mark. Overall, she has seven wins and more than $21,000 in career earnings.
