Rockin Nola, campaigned by the father-son team of Joe and Joey Putnam, won the most races of 2020 at Harrah’s Hoosier Park. The four-year-old daughter of Rockin Image had a stellar season that stretched the entire meet, winning nine races during the 111-night racing season.

Rockin Nola won her first race of the season in her very first start June 20 and continued throughout the season, winning her final race of the meet Nov. 14. During the season, she equaled her career best July 4 in 1:49.4 and overall, she was a winner in 10 of 17 starts. She now has in excess of $564,000 in earnings and 21 wins in 44 career starts for JP Racing and Suttons Bay Racing, who purchased her for $15,000 at the Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale.
Joining Rockin Nola on the list of winning horses of the meet was Majestic Player A and Somethingbeautiful, who each earned eight wins during the meet. Majestic Player A, a six-year-old gelding from the Walter Haynes Jr. Stable, has been one of the leading trotters in the nation all year and won his 15th race of the season on closing night. Somethingbeautiful, the standout two-year-old Always a Virgin filly from the Dylan Davis barn, was a winner in eight of her 11 starts and took a mark of 1:51.4 with more than $312,000 made. Her purse earnings topped all other horses at the meet as the most earned.
Rounding out the top five are Buck Dancer and May Baby who each won seven races apiece. Buck Dancer, a four-year-old son of Guccio, was from the Roger Welch Stable while May Baby was the standout three-year-old filly trotter, also by Guccio, from the James Yoder barn.
