Rockin Nola steps up to USS Indianapolis Memorial
Rockin Nola has been a force on the Indiana racing circuit all season long and she is back and stepping up to compete against open company in the $120,000 USS Indianapolis Memorial Friday, Nov. 1 at Harrah’s Hoosier Park. A daughter of Rockin Image, she will be driven from post two by Joey Putnam for his dad, Joe, who trains the filly. The duo has been tagged as the second choice on the morning line at odds of 3-1.

Rockin Nola has been with the Putnam barn since the beginning. She was purchased for $15,000 from the Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale and after a slow start, she was victorious in the $220,000 Indiana Sires Stakes final to receive year-end accolades.
This year, Rockin Nola came right out of the gate with authority, reeling off three straight wins. In all, she has had seven wins in 15 starts and took a new mark of 1:49.4, which was a track record for her age. Looking at her competition that comes in from out of state, Rockin Nola shares the quickest time in the field with JK American Beauty from the Nancy Johansson Stable and Summer Charm from the Ron Burke barn. Bred by Mahlon Lambright of Shipshewana, Rockin Nola is owned by Joe Putnam, Suttons Bay Racing of Michigan and Novi Trot LLC of Illinois. She has amassed more than $424,000 in career earnings.
Rockin Nola will be one of several Indiana sired horses involved in the 12-race program that boasts more than $800,000 in purses. First post for the evening is 6:30 p.m.
