Red Rose Swan, the $7,000 yearling purchase and $70,000 seller at the Midwest Mixed Sale last fall, turned in another victory for trainer-driver LeWayne Miller Monday, April 22 at Miami Valley Raceway. The four-year-old daughter of Swan for All led gate to wire, stopping the timer in 1:53.4 against conditioned trotters as the favorite of the field.
Owned by Brian and Jeremy Eash of Shipshewana, Ind. Red Rose Swan three wins and four seconds in seven starts this year. The victory Monday sets a new lifetime mark for the mare, who now has $47,000 on the year. In all, Red Rose Swan has nine career wins in 32 career starts with more than $217,000 in career earnings.
Red Rose Swan was bred by Alvin Schwartz and Mystical Marker Farms. The Indiana bred mare is from an impressive family. All eight of the siblings from the Pine Chip mare Red Rose Kosmos, have earned marks under 2:00 and a minimum of $20,000 in earnings. Four siblings have earnings in excess of $100,000. A ninth foal, Gaazilla, is a yearling colt this year by the sire Googoo Gaagaa.
