Five colts and five fillies will enter the Hoosier Classic Yearling Sales ring this coming weekend for R-N-D Standardbreds. The consignment, representing Richard Frey, Norman Miller and Danny Frey, have some impressive entrants, including a filly from the family of Grand Swan.
Marked as Hip No. 249, Lady Litho is from the second crop of Whom Shall I Fear and is a first foal from a sister to Hot Type (1:53.1, $212,000). Her second dam is a sister to the dam of Grand Swan, who has dominated the Indiana Sires Stakes three-year-old filly ranks this year.
Another standout in the R-N-D Standardbreds consignment is an Always a Virgin filly listed as Hip No. 161. Starlit Virgin is a first foal from a full-sister to 25-time winner Dreams Beachboy, who has a mark of 1:49 and in excess of $260,000. The black type continues under the third dam, showing a lot of successful racehorses.
R-N-D Standardbreds will be available in Aisle 27. The northern Indiana breeders have a mixture of trotting and pacing pedigrees with various sires represented such as Tellitlikeitis, Swan for All, Rockin Image and Whom Shall I Fear. A lot of their yearlings show young pedigrees with numerous $100,000-plus winners on the maternal side.
