What a year it has been for Pond A Acres. The facility, located in New Haven just outside of Ft. Wayne, has one of the largest consignments for the Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale. Once again, they are presenting many siblings to already proven champions, including Ponda Warrior and Ponda Adventure.

Pond-A-Acres will offer several siblings to some of the state’s top racehorses in the upcoming Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale Friday, Oct. 20 and Saturday, Oct. 21.
Headlining the consignment is a half brother to 2023 Dan Patch Stakes winner Ponda Warrior, who is closing in on three-quarters of a million in earnings. Ponda Ferrari, listed as Hip No. 75, will have a lot of lookers. The JK Endofanera colt is out of the American Ideal mare Sweetnsinful, who took a mark of 1:50.4 and earned nearly $400,000 during her racing career. She has four foals and in addition to Ponda Warrior, she has produced Sweet Sinsation, who has been timed in 1:53.0 and Ponda Executive, who has been timed in 1:50.3. She is also a half sister to Sweet Hedge, who took a mark of 1:49.1 and earned $424,000 and has already produced some winners, including Go With Joe (1:51.0).
Ponda Ferrari has been heavily staked outside of the Indiana stakes, including the Breeders Crown, Little Brown Jug, and Meadowlands Pace.
Joining Ponda Ferrari as a yearling that will be brought in and out of the stall a lot at the Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale is Ponda Rocky, who sells as Hip No. 119. The son of first crop sire Pastor Stephen is a half brother to the great Ponda Adventure, who has a mark of 1:52.2 and more than $700,000 on his card. The dam, Wildflower, took a two-year-old mark of 1:55 and earned more than $267,000). Her two-year-old this year, Ponda Marshall, has trotted in 1:57.4 and earned $19,000 and has been stakes placed in Indiana Sires Stakes action this year.
Another yearling from Ponda Acres that will garner attention is Hip No. 134, Ponda Bear. The Swan for All half brother to Flagman is the fourth foal from the Kadabra mare Magic Lindy, who took a mark of 1:51.3 in Canada during her career. In addition to Rick Plano’s tough Flagman, shoe has produced Ricorico, who has a mark of 1:56.
Pond A Acres will cover two aisles at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. The consignment has 24 total in the sale.
