Trainer-Driver Rick Plano scored two wins on the Wednesday, Jan. 15 racing program at Pompano Park, guiding two Indiana sired trotters to victory. Included on the list of winners is former Indiana Sires Stakes champion Born to Thrive.

Now seven, Born to Thrive moved after the quarter and was parked the rest of the mile, applying pressure to race leader Bucketlist Hanover and Kevin Wallis. In the end, Born to Thrive outlasted his opponent in the $9,000 conditioned trot for the win by one length in a time of 1:53.3. He is owned by John Campagnuolo, Victor Contento and Maryann Plano.
Bred by Victory Hill Farm, Born to Thrive is now one for two in 2020. The Swan for All gelding has 34 career wins with earnings in excess of $370,000. He took his career best time of 1:52.4 at Harrah’s Hoosier Park at the age of five.
Earlier in the card, Plano guided another Indiana sired trotter to victory as Keegan Ho scored a win in the evening’s first race. Owned by Plano, Jan Repko and Mindy Finding Repko, the seven-year-old son of Mr Cantab secured the lead after the first quarter and never looked back, trotting home to a three-quarter length win in 1:55.1. Everyone’s Talkin and Ronald Cusimano finished second.
It was the 24th career win for Keegan Ho, who is now two for two in 2020. The first win of the season matched the gelding’s best time of 1:54.3. Keegan Ho now has in excess of $200,000 with his latest victory.
