Pink Ruby and Marvin Luna slipped right on by to score the win Thursday, Nov. 16 in conditioned claiming action at Harrah’s Hoosier Park. The duo stopped the timer in 1:53.3.

Pink Ruby had post two at the beginning which set her up perfectly for a spot up close early on. Prove Em Wrong and Trace Tetrick went out for the early lead, allowing Pink Ruby to sit in the two hole behind them. After fractions of :27.3 and :56.1, Pink Ruby was holding her position on the inside as contenders began to inch up on the outside led by Jennifer Rocks and John DeLong.
In the stretch, room opened up midway through the lane and Pink Ruby moved right on through for the win by one and one-quarter lengths. Jennifer Rocks held gamely onto second over Prove Em Wrong.
Pink Ruby paid $11.40 for the win. The three-year-old daughter of Shadyshark Hanover is owned by Maynard Miller and Daniel Lehman. Walter Haynes Jr. trains the filly who was bred by Michael Schmucker.
Pink Ruby earned her fourth win of the year and eighth overall. She now has more than $59,000 on her card with a career best time of 1:52.3 taken earlier this year at Harrah’s Hoosier Park. She was purchased by her current connections a year ago in August. She is from the race mare Cruisin in Pink, who has a mark of 1:52.3 and more than $129,000 in earnings. To date, she has had four foals of racing age and all have taken marks under 1:53. The richest is Shes Cruising Home with a mark of 1:51.2 and more than $224,000. The family has a yearling this year named Mr Kid by Cronos.
