Freaky Feet Pete, the beloved pacer from the Rheinheimer Stable, is back. The now seven-year-old horse by Indiana sire Rockin Image qualified in 1:55.0 Saturday, April 28, churning out a final panel in 26 seconds for the win in the first qualifier of the day under the direction of driver Trace Tetrick.
Owned by Mary Jo and Marty Rheinheimer and trained by Marty, Freaky Feet Pete made his last start in early January at Miami Valley in the $25,000 Open before taking a break. He moves into his sixth season of competition in 2019 with 33 career wins in 57 career starts and more than $1.5 million in purse earnings.
“Pete” took his career best time of 1:47.1 as a four-year-old at Pocono Downs. He’s also been raced timed in 1:47.2 at The Meadowlands and his quickest time at Harrah’s Hoosier Park is 1:48.2, taken at the age of three. Always a fan favorite, “Pete” always draws a crowd! Good luck “Pete” in 2019.
