A reminder for the next round of nomination and sustaining payments for Indiana sired events is due Friday, May 15. Originally due April 15, the Indiana Standardbred Breed Development (ISBD) suspended the payments for one month due to the current climate associated with Covid-19. Payments must be postmarked by May 15 to meet deadline requirements.

All nomination payments due April 15 have been moved to May 15, including the ISA Elite Series.
Included on the list will be some Indiana Sires Stakes payments, some late closers and some Indiana fair racing payments along with the Elite Series. The late closers will be held at Harrah’s Hoosier Park but with the reduction in racing dates, seven of those events will be suspended for this year and will return in 2021. Those who have already submitted nomination fees into suspended late closers will be awarded refunds.
The ISBD met Thursday, May 14 through a virtual meeting. A layout of money available for the year was established by Jessica Barnes, director of breed development.
The ISBD will meet again at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 20 to finalize all stakes, late closers and fair racing for 2020. More information on the meeting and how to join virtually will be available through the Indiana Horse Racing Commission website soon at www.hrc.in.gov. Also, all questions concerning stakes, purses and other events should be directed to Barnes at jbarnes@hrc.in.gov before next week’s meeting.
