Blue Bird Meadows will have something for everyone at the upcoming Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale Friday, Oct. 21 and Saturday, Oct. 22. The farm will offer 25 yearlings representing both new and old stallions on both the trot and the pace. The farm will also offer an Open House for pre-sale inspections.
One of the first yearlings in the ring for Blue Bird Meadows is Bluebird Choir, a half sister to the talented Bluebird Reverend ($600,000, 1:53.0) and Bluebird Deacon ($200,000, 1:53.1). The filly is by Helpisontheway, who has had an outstanding season with his first crop in 2022. Bluebird Choir sells as Hip No. 32 and is located in Hall D at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
Blue Bird will also act as agent for several yearlings under their care, including a half sister to the millionaire American Girl, who completed her career with a mark of 1:50.3. Wings of Faith, a daughter of Odds on Equuleus, comes from the brood mare L Dees Lourdes, who has produced six winners in nine foals. The third dam is L Dees Trish, who made more than $900,000 during her racing career, showing the depth of the black type in the family. Wings of Faith sells as Hip No. 19 and is also located in Hall D.
Switching to later in the sale, Blue Bird Meadows will offer a full brother to the top pacer Trick of the Light, who just competed in the Little Brown Jug. The colt, named Hot Rod Heart, is by Odds on Equuleus and from the mare Gordjus, who took a mark of 1:54.4 before becoming a brood mare. She has also produced JK Shes Gordjus with a mark of 1:52.1 and more than $100,000 on her card as well as Kaks Rockin with a mark of 1:51.4 and more than $113,000. Hot Rod Heart is heavily staked in the Breeders Crown, Bluegrass, Fox, and Little Brown Jug, just to name a few outside of the Indiana Sires Stakes and fair circuit. Hot Rod Heart will keep sale goers around as he sells as Hip No. 382 out of 411 in the sale.
For sale goers seeking a new family, Premier Terminator, consigned with Blue Bird Meadows for Premier Acres, sells as a first foal from the mare Bella Girl Hanover. Her mother is Bikini Hanover, who has produced four winners with earnings of more than $100,000, including Boca Hanover, who has a mark of 1:51.1 and more than $526,000. Premier Terminator sells as Hip No. 35.
