Odds on Blockchain and Luke Hanners turned in a hard fought finish to score the win in the $25,000 Winner’s Over Pace Monday, Aug. 28 at Plainridge Park Racecourse. The duo scored the win in a three-horse photo in 1:50.4.

Odds on Blockchain, inside with Luke Hanners, rallies home for his fifth win of 2023 at Plainridge Racecourse.
Odds on Blockchain was the first name called when the starting gate let the field go. Hanners put the four-year-old Indiana sired gelding right on the front end followed by fellow Indiana sired gelding Skyway Victor, who followed along in second for driver Mitchell Cushing. The first quarter was clicked off in :26.2 followed by the half in :54.3. Heading to the three-quarter mile marker, Ucanttouchthis and Brett Beckwith pulled to challenge the leader. Midway through the turn, Skyway Victor moved out between horses as the trio hit the stretch.
All three horses began to battle for the win. Ucanttouchthis seemed to have the most momentum and was moving up late but Odds On Blockchain held him off to win by a neck over Ucanttouchthis. Skyway Victor finished third.
Odds On Blockchain paid $6.20 for the win. He is owned by Doug Overhiser, who acquired him in late July and trained by Alicia Gray. Victory Hill Farm Inc. bred the gelding. Odds on Blockchain is a half brother to Tell’s On A Roll, who just earned an Indiana Sires Stakes win at Harrah’s Hoosier Park last week. To date, the dam, Have Rock Willroll, is a 100 percent producer with all four foals racing. Odds On Blockchain is the quickest, winning one of his five races earlier this year at Plainridge in 1:50.0.
Odds on Blockchain was initially sold at the Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale for $32,000 under the name JK’s On A Roll. He joined the Odds On team and now has 11 career wins in 42 starts with more than $136,000 on his card.
