The project was overseen by Greg and Jane Ann Runyan. A concrete pad for a foundation was poured last fall and a pre-built structure was delivered. The new building is near the draw gate leading to the track. It has white siding and a green roof to match all other buildings on the Jay County Fairgrounds property. The new speed office also has a front porch.
The Jayland Trotting Association secured grant money to pay for the much-needed speed office at the Jay County Fairgrounds in Portland, Ind. It is now ready to go for the upcoming Standardbred racing season set to begin this summer.
