A total of 140 entries have been accumulated for the third annual Midwest Mixed Sale set for Friday, Nov. 29. The sale is held at the Michiana Event Center in Shipshewana, Ind. and is the day before the Michiana Classic Yearling Sale, providing a great one-two punch for sale goers.

The Midwest Mixed Sale is set for the Friday following Thanksgiving at 11 a.m. at the Michiana Event Center in Shipshewana, Ind.
The 2019 Midwest Mixed Sale provides a wide range of both racing and breeding stock. Several top brood mare entries, in foal, will be offered and includes the complete dispersal of 15 horses from Cornerstone Stock Farm. Highlighting the dispersal is the mare, Skippin By, who has a mark of 1:49.4 and more than $880,000 who is carrying her first foal by Downbytheseaside. Another top brood mare from the dispersal is Novascotia Hanover (1:51.1, $512,000) who is in foal to Muscle Massive.
In the racehorse options, both Jack Myers Racing Stable and the LeWayne Miller Stable will provide stable reductions in the sale. Several of Myers’ trotters, J-S Swanman and Jesse Popper, are racing at Harrah’s Hoosier Park Thursday, Nov. 7.
Another top selling trotter in the sale will be Summit City Swan from the Byron Hooley barn. The three-year-old daughter of Swan for All has won 10 races in 2019 and has earned nearly $150,000. She finished third in the Jugette earlier this year and competed in many of the Indiana Sires Stakes legs.
In addition to the sale, the Midwest Benefit dinner and fundraiser will be held once again following the sale Friday, Nov. 29. The event will include breedings to many stallions. Last year’s event raised several thousand dollars that assisted several families in need associated with Standardbred racing in the state of Indiana.
The Midwest Mixed Sale will begin at 11 a.m. For more information or to view the online catalog, go to midwestauctionco.com.
