Indiana horsemen and horsewomen will have one more chance to pick up an Indiana sired yearling at the upcoming Michiana Classic Yearling Sale set for Tuesday, Nov. 23 at the Michiana Event Center in Shipshewana, Ind. A total of 113 hip numbers have been assigned for the sale that begins at 10 a.m.

Included in the sale is a son of Night Pro, the standout Invitational pacer in recent years in Indiana. The Indiana sired stallion has only a few yearlings available this year, and one is Hip No. 38, Rock Star Pro. The black colt is a first foal out of JS Littlerockstar, who has a mark of 1:51.3 and more than $100,000 in earnings. Daniel Girod of Geneva, Ind. has consigned the colt.
Another yearling in the sale is Hip No. 53 from the first crop of Check Six. The colt, named Miccheck, hails from the Luckiana Farm and is from the mare, Majors Sweetheart, who has a mark of 1:56.0 and has already produced two with marks under 1:55.0. McCheck can also be traced back to the maternal family of All Bets Off, the pacer who took a mark of 1:48.0 during his career and earned in excess of $3 million and raced at Hoosier Park in several of the bigger races, including the Dan Patch and Hoosier Park Pacing Derby.
A trotting filly that will garner some attention is Hip No. 67 Massive Jackpot. The filly is from the second Indiana crop of Muscle Massive and out of the mare One Way to Win, with a mark of 1:58. The filly is the second foal and the second dam on the maternal side is Winner’s Only, who produced several top racehorses, including Waldorf Hall and War Cry Hall, who both earned in excess of $500,000 and won several races on the Grand Circuit. Massive Jackpot is consigned by Bennett Farms of Fremont, Michigan and is dual eligible to Indiana and Michigan.
Some Big Dream will also be a filly with a lot of lookers. The JK Endofanera filly is the first foal from Sallynsand, who is a half sister to the standout Indiana pacer Shnitzledosomethin, winner of more than $800,000 and a mark of 1:48.4, and Somethingbeautiful, winner of nearly $500,000 and a mark of 1:50.4. Luckiana Farm of Goshen, Ind. has consigned the filly.
Helpfirstedition from the Chapel Ridge Farm consignment will be a trotter to look at. The Helpisontheway colt is a first foal from the mare She Knows Swagger, who is a full sister to Intimidate, winner of more than $1.3 million and a mark of 1:51.0. Helpfirstedition sells as Hip No. 78.
Several other yearlings will be featured during the Michiana Classic Yearling Sale. The Sale will be followed by the Midwest Mixed Sale.
