Mast Standardbreds has small but mighty consigment

Mast Standardbreds has a small consignment for the Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale, but the quality is definitely large. Three trotters and one pacer will make up the lineup for Mast Standardbreds, located in Aisle 14 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds for the sale that begins Friday, Oct. 21.

The lone pacer sells first as Hip No. 59. Catwalk Chaos is a first foal from a mare by The Panderosa with a mark of 1:5.1. She was an Ohio Sires Stakes winner during her career and retired with more than $200,000. The second dam has produced another winner of more than $200,000 in Slick Mick, a full sister to Carmen Ohio.

The three trotters for Mast Standardbreds will sell later in the sale, kicked off with Surfer Dude as Hip No. 133. The You Know You Do colt is the second foal from the Donato Hanover mare Seaside Breeze, who has a mark of 1:56.1. She had a full brother to Surfer Dude that was a two-year-old in 2022 and raced, with a best time of 1:57.4.

Mast Standardbreds will sell another yearling by You Know You Do as Badabing is slated as Hip No. 254. The filly is out of the Cantab Hall mare Barmaid, who has produced several winners including Martini Show, winner of more than $300,000 with a mark of 1:53.4. The mare had a two-year-old full brother to Badabing this year named You Do Know, who is still racing this fall and has been timed in 2:00.3.

The final yearling for Mast Standardbreds is a Swan for All colt named Caughtincattails, selling as Hip No. 299. The colt is a first foal from the mare Class Angel, who has a mark of 1:58.1 and raced in Canada. There is a lot of maternal speed for the colt with the third dam, Classical Speed, a former New York Sires Stakes winner by Speedy Crown. The mare has produced numerous winners, including Cosington, who earned more than $400,000 during his career.
