It’s only fitting that Majors Miracle scored a win on the Veteran’s Day card Saturday, Nov. 11 at Harrah’s Hoosier Park. The Indiana sired pacing mare scored the win in 1:54.2.

Driven by Brad Ferguson, Majors Miracle used her rail post position to her advantage and got away on the lead before being overtaken by Shakeanera and Ricky Macomber Jr. at the quarter in :27.3. From there, Majors Miracle wasn’t content to sit in the two-hole and moved out and around to take command of the race at the half in :56.4. From there Majors Miracle called the shots, leading the field into the stretch.
Midway through the lane, the field of eight began to spread out across the track and was attacking Majors Miracle from both sides. But the mare dug in gamely for the win by a neck in a photo that included six horses at the wire. Shakeanera finished second over Mel’s Vicki Lou and Joey Putnam for third.
Majors Miracle paid $8.60 for the win. The four-year-old daughter of Luck Be Withyou is owned by Eash Racing Stable and trained by Don Eash. Jonas Graber bred the mare, who earned her second win of the season and her ninth overall. To date, she has more than $155,000 on her card with her career best time of 1:52.1 taken earlier this year at Harrah’s Hoosier Park.
Earlier in the card, Northern Luckygirl scored another win for trainer-lessee Jackie Ricks. The three-year-old daughter of Luck Be Withyou rallied home to a three and three-quarter length win for driver Kyle Wilfong, stopping the timer in 1:54.3. Forget me Not and Michael Oosting finished second over Polkdot Lady and Peter Wrenn for third.
