Majestic Player A did more than just win his ninth straight race Saturday, July 18 in the $15,000 Open Trot at Harrah’s Hoosier Park. The Australian-born gelding established himself as the leading trotter in the country for wins in 2020. Majestic Player A is now nine for 10 this season.

Trained by Walter Haynes Jr., Majestic Player A started his year at Miami Valley Raceway in February, missing the win by a head in his seasonal debut. That is the only time he has not visited the winner’s circle this year. The Majestic Son six-year-old has continued to roll through Opens at Miami Valley Raceway, Harrah’s Hoosier Park and Scioto Downs, taking a new career best time of 1:51.1 in his most recent win in Indiana. Sam Widger is the regular driver for Majestic Player A.
Now owned by Jeff Fought Racing of Shipshewana, Ind., Brian Carsey of Connersville, Ind. and Casey Myers of Albion, Ind., Majestic Player A was purchased by Carsey from Australia in September of 2019. During his time racing down under, he accumulated 15 wins and nearly $100,000 in earnings. The gelding, unraced at two, now has in excess of $186,000 in career earnings.
