Little Rocket Man blasted to another win Friday, July 24 in the $15,000 Open Pace at Harrah’s Hoosier Park. Trace Tetrick drove the four-year-old son of Rockin Image to the win in 1:49.0.

Little Rocket Man was handicapped to the outside in the six-horse field and shot out to the lead to set fractions of :26.3, :55.4 and 1:23.2 before Brassy Hanover and Sam Widger came up to challenge in the stretch. Little Rocket Man dug in gamely and held on for the win by a neck, pacing his final quarter in :25.3 for the win. Rockie Got Framed and Ricky Macomber Jr. finished third. The entire field of six paced under the 1:50 time barrier in the race.
Little Rocket Man is owned by Russ Beeman and Jack Freeman. He is now four for five in 2020 and is currently on a four-race win streak. Missy Beeman trains the gelding, who now has in excess of $229,000 on his card. His career best time was taken in his last start at Harrah’s Hoosier Park in 1:48.1.
Earlier in the day, Harrah’s Hoosier Park announced that First Turn Stable is back in business, this time, acquiring Essig as the trainer for the fractional ownership group.
Bay Rum was claimed for $20,000 for the group. The seven-year-old gelding has already won this year in 1:51.3. He has 22 career wins in 114 career starts with more than $135,000 in career earnings. Bay Rum is an Indiana sired son of Real Desire.
