Legacy Lane Farm of Nappanee, Ind. is preparing a large consignment for the upcoming Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale. The farm has 18 yearlings prepped and ready to go for the Friday, Oct. 20 and Saturday, Oct. 21 sale at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
Two of the yearlings are dual eligible to Indiana and Kentucky, including Kountry Carrots, a filly by the exciting new stallion Capt Midnight. The filly is a first foal from the multiple stakes winning mare Bettor Joy N, who has a mark of 1:50.1 and earned more than a half million. The black type is strong on the maternal side as the mare is a half sister to another multiple stakes winner Joyful Joy N, a winner of more than $360,000 and a mark of 1:51.3. Kountry Carrots sells as Hip No. 174.
The other dual eligible yearling is She’s Kountry Cool, a daughter of Pastor Stephen. Also a first foal, the maternal side includes a mare that is a half sister to stakes winner Ghostly Casper (1:53.3, $326,000) and Cool Clifford (1:54.0, $277,000). The second dam is a half sister to the great Casual Breeze, who earned more than $1.3 million with a mark of 1:53.1. The filly sells as Hip No. 41.
The consignment has the first yearling selling in the sale with a filly named Blewemby, a daughter of Don’t Let’em. The filly, who is being handled by Legacy Lane as agent for Equine Acres, is a second foal from a mare that is a half sister to R First Class (1:52.3, $388,000). The second dam is World Class Image, winner of more than $24,000 with a mark of 1:55.2.
The last yearling of the consignment sells as Hip No. 372. A Sher Bet, a daughter of Swan for All, is a first foal from a full sister to Will Take Charge, who has a mark of 1:50.3 and has more than $1.1 million on his card. The filly is also a half sister to Bare My Soul (1:52.1, $279,000) and I’m On Cloud Nine (1:54.2, $212,000).
