Land of Freedom and Brad Ferguson used a late rally to score a win over similar opponents in the $18,000 Four-Year-Old Trot. The duo covered the one-mile event in 1:52.2.

Land of Freedom and Ferguson started from post three and got away in mid pack as Famous Father and Rick Plano let the way from the start, posting fractions of :27.2 and :55.4 before any action moved to the outside to challenge. Jusmakinyalook and Jordan Ross led the charge on the outside, eventually taking over the top spot at the top of the stretch.
Land of Freedom found the room he needed in the stretch moving in late for the win by one-half length. Late Nite Hawk and Kyle Wilfong held their ground inside for second over Famous Father for third.
Land of Freedom paid $45.20 and the second longest shot on the board. The four-year-old son of Dover Dan is owned by Robert Reeser and John Johannsen. Reeser trains the gelding, who won his fourth race of 2023 and took a new lifetime mark in the process. Overall, he is nine for 51 with earnings that are nearly $150,000.
Land of Freedom is the first foal from the Muscles Yankee mare, Sweetlandofliberty. He has a yearling sister named Sweet Show who is by Show Ticket.
Land of Freedom was an $8,000 purchase from the Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale. He was part of the first crop of Dover Dan and one of 61 sold at auction that seaon.
