Story by Dr. Alan White
The Kountry Lane Standardbreds farm of Wakarusa, Ind. hosted an open house on Saturday, December 17, 2022. Temporal Hanover, their exciting new stallion, was on display for the many breeders in attendance, and practically every major breeder in Indiana was present as well as many from Ohio and Illinois. This magnificent son of Walner will be standing in Indiana for the 2023 breeding season at Premier Acres.

Fifty stallion shares for Temporal Hanover were offered for $30,000 each. Each share included the right to one free breeding per year plus an additional breeding for a second mare for the advertised fee ($8,500 for 2023).
The Open House event at Kountry Lane Standardbreds was scheduled for 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. By 12:30 p.m., with several people still standing in line to make their purchase, the last share was sold.
Temporal Hanover (2, 1:53.2m; 3, 1:52.2s, BT 1:50m, $972,166) was a top contender in Grand Circuit events throughout his two and three-year-old seasons. He is out of the Cantab Hall mare Think Twice, who is a half sister to former Horse of the Year Glidemaster. This year his yearling full brother sold at the Standardbred Horse Sale in Harrisburg, Pa. for $510,000.
Also on display were a few of the mares that make up the Kountry Lane breeding stock, including (among others) the great pacing mare Shartin N (p 1:46.4M, $2,555,629), in foal to Captaintreacherous, Western Silk (p 3, 1:50.1S, $1,679,347), a World Champion and the dam of the 2022 mare Breeders’ Crown winner Gracie Hill (4, 1:48.3M, $1,168,090), and the great trotting mare Plunge Blue Chip (t, 3, 1:49.4M $1,576,251).
The Kountry Lane Standardbreds farm facilities are top notch. The stable area is enclosed with a large indoor arena and a separate large Equicizer room. Farm manager Duane Miller, owner of nearby Legacy Lane Farm, was very pleased with the turnout for this event and the overwhelming reception for this new Indiana stallion.
