J-S Swanman, the standout trotter on the Indiana Sired Fair Circuit last summer, made his first start for his new connections Thursday, Jan. 23 at The Meadows. The now four-year-old son of Swan for All was sold at the Midwest Mixed Sale at the Michiana Event Center last November for $8,000.

J-S Swanman was part of the stable reduction for the Jack Myers Racing Stable. Myers moved several of his three-year-olds to make room for younger horses, the focus of his stable each year in Indiana. Alex Udell and his wife, Kristyn, oversee the training of the horses at the former Hoosier Downs in northern Indiana.
Now owned by Cass Gallagher of Michigan, J-S Swanman got away in mid pack of his qualifier before moving out at the three-quarters and trotting right on by the leaders, winning his qualifier in 2:00.4 by five and one quarter lengths. Mike Wilder drove the Indiana sired gelding for trainer Sara Andrews.
J-S Swanman comes into his four-year-old season with 15 career wins in 39 career starts and earnings of more than $60,000. His career best time is 1:56.1 taken last year at Harrah’s Hoosier Park.
