Three-year-olds are always featured at the end of the program and one sophomore trotting filly will be searching for her seventh win this season in 12 starts. Celebrate Winning, trained and driven by Jay Cross, will be seeking her fourth straight win in the first division of the three-year-old trotting fillies. The Guccio filly has found her best stride late this year and took her career best time of 2:02 at Portland in late August.
Owned by Carl Hanes of Fairmount, Ind., Celebrate Winning has accumulated the majority of her earnings this season. From the second crop of Guccio foals, the filly was a $6,000 purchase from the Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale in 2017. She is a half sister to Gold Medal Swan, who took a mark of 1:53.0 and made nearly $200,000 during his career and is still racing.
Celebrate Winning starts from post five in the six-horse field. She will face Starlit Tuffy from post four from the Justin White barn. Starlit Tuffy has three wins this season for owner Tom Weigel of Bryant, Ind. The Mr Cantab daughter will seek her second straight win in the sophomore filly trotting ranks.
