The Indiana Standardbred Association (ISA) is now accepting applications for a Gator Driver for the 2022 race season at Harrah’s Hoosier Park. The position will offer services during the live racing season, which begins Friday, March 25, 2022.
Each year, the ISA provides a Gator to assist with transportation to and from the paddock. Applications are now being accepted until Feb. 28 for the driver position for the 2022 racing season.
The Gator Driver position is based on the live racing schedule each racing night Tuesday through Saturday. The Gator Driver provides assistance to horsemen and horsewomen moving to and from the paddock area when shipping into race.
Hours will begin three hours and fifteen minutes prior to the first race post time, which is generally 6:30 p.m., meaning the start time will begin at 3:15 p.m. Duties will continue through the live racing program and conclude 15 minutes after the final race of the night, which is approximately 11 p.m. Pay for the position is $100 per night.
Applicants for the Gator Driver position must have a valid Indiana vehicle operator’s license with no restrictions or conditions.
