The Indiana Standardbred Association will partner with Harrah’s Hoosier Park for a special Horsemen’s Appreciation Night Saturday, Nov. 2. The 10-race card gets underway with a special post time of 7:10 p.m.

According to a press release from Harrah’s Hoosier Park, all horsemen racing on the card will receive free dinner in the paddock and caretakers will be honored during post parades. The caretakers of winning horses will also receive a prize packs.
Many of the caretakers work hard each year to dress their horses up for Halloween in the Fright Night at the Races event. The event, originally scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 26, was rescheduled for Saturday due to inclement weather conditions last week. The event includes the horse costume contest in the front paddock along with a children’s costume contest, trunk or treat for kids, free pumpkins and decorating station and $2 hot dogs and beers for the adults. Fans can vote for their favorite equine entrant in the costume contest by purchasing tickets for $1 with all proceeds going to Harness Horse Youth Foundation.
The 2019 season comes to a close at Harrah’s Hoosier Park Saturday, Nov. 9. The final week offers additional incentives to reward fans for another great season at the facility in Anderson, Ind.
