Black Friday has taken on a new meaning for Indiana based horsemen and horsewomen. While owners and trainers are finishing up their Thanksgiving turkey, they will be zoned in on the sale book for the Midwest Mixed Sale Friday, Nov. 29 and the Michiana Classic Yearling Sale Saturday, Nov. 30. Both sales will be held at the Michiana Event Center in Shipshewana, Ind.

The Midwest Mixed Sale features 140 entries, starting off with breeding stock and then moving into racehorses. Both Jack Myers Racing Stable and LeWayne Miller Racing Stable will have a semi dispersal in the sale, which begins at 11 a.m.
Cornerstone Stock Farm will have a complete dispersal of breeding stock, including several well-bred mares in foal to Indiana stallions such as Always a Virgin. The evening will be capped off with a Midwest Benefit dinner and fundraiser featuring breedings to many stallions.
The Michiana Classic Yearling Sale will kick off at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30 featuring 172 hip numbers. All the major Indiana stallions are represented in the sale from Swan for All and Guccio on the trotting side to Always a Virgin and Rockin Image on the pacing side.
