With the barn area officially open this week at Harrah’s Hoosier Park, the Indiana Horse Racing Commission (IHRC) will begin its full licensing schedule. The office at the entrance to the main stable gate in the Racing Administration building will be open 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Tuesday March 12 to kick off the official racing season of 2019.

Office hours for IHRC will move to 8 a.m. until12 p.m. Wednesday, March 13 to accommodate the first round of qualifiers before returning to 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Thursday and Friday. The office will once again be open 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. Saturday, March 16 to once again provide licensing to those slated to compete in qualifiers that day, which begin at 10 a.m.
Beginning Thursday, March 21, all horsemen and horsewomen entering the backstretch area will be required to have a valid 2019 IHRC license. A special 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. session will be held Wednesday, March 27 to accommodate the evening qualifying session, leading into opening night Friday, March 29 when the office will be open 12 until 7 p.m. First post for opening night is 6:30 p.m.
