As the 2023 racing season comes to a close, preparations are in the works for the 2024 racing season, including all licensing requirements by the Indiana Horse Racing Commission (IHRC). The office at Harrah’s Hoosier Park is now accepting applications and renewals for next year. A reminder that all current IHRC licenses expire Dec. 31.
Applications are available online by going to www.hrc.in.gov/hrc through the Licensing section. Applications faxed or scanned in should have prior arrangements for payment for any licenses.
The IHRC also offers an online licensing portal at: https://hrms.hrc.in.gov/#/login For those who were licensed last year online, the process is simple to log in and begin paperwork.
Once an application has been reviewed and approved, a license will be mailed. For those needing 2024 fingerprints, an applicant can stop by the office or simply google a place nearby that provides fingerprinting services. All applicants should check with the license office first to determine if fingerprints are needed and if the selected provider will be accepted by IHRC. Fingerprints are $27. For the convenience of all IHRC license holders, the date of previous fingerprints are shown on the back of all licenses.
