The Indiana Standardbred Association and Harrah’s Hoosier Park teamed up for a summer renovation on the apron area. A new space known as the HOP (Hoosier Outdoor Patio) is open to offer guests a new way to watch racing in an updated area. And, the area just got a little better.

The HOP, a new viewing area for racing fans at Harrah’s Hoosier Park, received its new furniture last week to complete the project. Seating for more than 30 people on one side of the pavilion is now available. Photo by Tony Renz
Last week, new furniture arrived and is now positioned under the new awning areas of the HOP. Tables with four chairs each provide seating for more than 30 people on one side while picnic tables with built in seating are provided on the other side of the structure. In between is the astro turf area designed for games and activities such as corn hole. The furniture is made out of durable resin which will last for years and will be resistant to changing weather patterns.
The HOP is polished off with party lights and fans to provide added comfort to fans during live racing.
The HOP is available each race night. The area will be restricted for certain special events throughout the season, including the upcoming Breeders Crown Friday, Oct. 27 and Saturday, Oct. 28.
