Hoosier Champions Night features more than $1.8 million to crown the season’s Indiana Sires Stakes champions. First post Friday, Oct. 13 at 6:15PM at Harrah’s Hoosier Park.
Kicking off the program featuring $1,885,000 in purses is the $250,000 Three-Year-Old Filly Trot with Naturdays picking up the early attention as the morning line favorite. The one-time Indiana Sired Fair Circuit contender has come back this year strong, winning four of the eight preliminary rounds. She starts from post five with Matt Krueger aboard. Her biggest challenger is Helpoftheseason, who leads all filly trotters with the most Indiana Sires Stakes points at 265 to Naturdays 262. Helpoftheseason won the last two Indiana Sires Stakes appearances, including the prestigious Buckette in between and is on a three-race win streak for the Wrenn Stable. Peter Wrenn drives from post three as the second favorite.
The Indiana Sires Stakes for older horses and geldings is set for Race 5 and is a wide open contest going for the $50,000 purse. Adamsville Road and Trace Tetrick are the slight favorites on the morning line, but they are tasked with post nine. The field also includes Flagman from post one with Rick Plano, Dover in Motion and Ricky Macomber Jr. from post two, and Ponda Adventure and Dexter Dunn from post five. Big Christian is the lone second tier starter for Marcus Miller at odds of 6-1.
Several guaranteed wagers are added to the night in partnership with the U.S. Trotting Association and the Indiana Standardbred Association. Plus, free Hoosier Champions chairs are available through the promotional kiosk to all Caesars Rewards members along with $100 mega bets on the Super Finals.
