Homicide Hunter, the Indiana sired gelding who made history last fall with the sport’s quickest trotting mile ever, is nearing a return to the track this season. The now seven-year-old son of Mr. Cantab is in to qualify Saturday, May 4 at The Meadowlands.

Owned by Crawford Farms Racing, Homicide Hunter qualified April 24 at Pocono Downs, winning his qualifier in 1:55.1 with Matt Kakaley driving for trainer Chris Oakes. When Homicide Hunter steps onto the track Saturday at The Meadowlands, it will be in different stable colors.
Ron Burke has taken over the training assignment for Homicide Hunter and for the first time in his six-year-career, Yannick Gingras will drive. Homicide Hunter has drawn post seven in the morning’s eighth race. He will match up against standout trotters such as JL Cruze and Six Pack.
