The Harness Horse Youth Foundation (HHYF) has just unveiled its new Website. The Website is a result of many month work and input from industry leaders, participants and staff at HHYF as they prepare for another great year of serving youth in Standardbred racing.

Led by Ellen Taylor, HHYF executive director, the organization offers scholarships and hosts many different events throughout the year for kids. The HHYF team participates in other special activities at racetracks, including the annual Madison County Fourth Grade trip to Hoosier Park each fall. More than 600 kids from all of the elementary schools in the county spend a day learning about racing and seeing horses up close thanks to the staff at Hoosier Park as well as volunteers such as Taylor.

The HHYF also spearheads the 2019 HHYF Summer Programs, which travels to various tracks in the East with camps, providing kids the opportunity to learn to care and train Trottingbred horses, a smaller version of the Standardbred. The HHYF is currently seeking individuals interested in teaching and assisting with these programs, which range from mid-May to September 1, 2019. Individuals would travel and care for the HHYF Stable, and general horsemanship is required. Harness racing experience is preferred but not mandatory.
