Due to extreme heat indexes and dangerous outdoor conditions predicted for Central Indiana through Thursday, Aug. 24, Harrah’s Hoosier Park has adjusted post times for the week to a 7 p.m. start time.

Racing this week has been adjusted to a 7 p.m. post at Harrah’s Hoosier Park due to extreme heat conditions. Racing Thursday, Aug. 24 has been canceled.
The heat index is supposed to be the highest on Thursday, Aug. 24, so racing for the evening has been canceled. The Indiana Sires Stakes for three-year-old colt and gelding trotters initially carded for Thursday will now be part of the program Friday, Aug. 25. The race, with eight sophomore trotters, is set as the 12th race on the program.
All other racing days, Tuesday, Aug. 22 through Saturday, Aug. 26 will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday will include a 14-race program to accommodate for some of the cancelled races on Thursday.
Many tracks effected by the heat warnings in the Midwest are adjusting post times to avoid the hottest part of the day.
