The Indiana Standardbred Association and Harrah’s Hoosier Park are teaming up once again to recognize the hard-working caretakers in the Hoosier State. “Groom of the Month” will provide an honor to those who spend endless hours ensuring Standardbreds have the utmost in care while prepping and maintaining their racing careers in 2023.

Three separate ballot stations are available in the Paddock Lounge, track kitchen and racing office. Entry forms are easy to fill out and only take a few minutes. The ballots require the name of the groom, place of employment, contact info of the groom, and who nominated the groom. Each month, one groom will be selected from the nominations for the award, which includes recognition over social media and the track’s audio visual system.
Once selected, the groom is asked a series of quick questions, such as their favorite horse, how long they have worked for their current employer, home town, etc.
For more information, contact ISA Horsemen’s representative P.D. Huffman, who is available in the paddock for all racing and qualifiers.
