After finishing second in her last start, Grand Swan returned to the winner’s circle in a $20,000 elimination of the Indiana Sires Stakes for two-year-old trotting fillies Friday, Sept. 28. The Swan For All filly posted the mile in 1:56.1 with trainer-driver LeWayne Miller in tow.

Starting from post five, Grand Swan trotted out to secure the spot behind Measuredperfection and Ricky Macomber Jr. through the first quarter in :27.3. Then, Miller tipped Grand Swan to the outside and straight to the lead. The filly had a comfortable tempo through the middle fractions of the race before stepping it up in the lane, trotting home in :27.3 to win by one-half length over Kota’s Swan and Sam Widger. Measuredperfection finished third.
It was the eighth win of the season in 11 starts for Grand Swan, who has in excess of $183,000 on her card. She is owned by Grand Swan Racing of Shipshewana, Ind., Go Fast Stable of Powell, Ohio, and Never 2 Late Stable of Greenlawn, NY.
