Each year at the conclusion of the Harrah’s Hoosier Park racing season, Track Photographer Dean Gillette and his dog, Meg, head south for the winter months from their home in Shipshewana, Ind, avoiding the cold and snow that arrives this time of year. During their stay, they connection with many of those involved in racing in the state of Indiana. Gillette provides previews through his lens of the two-year-olds prepping for the upcoming season of racing, particularly in Indiana.

Gillette spent the Christmas vacation in Bell, Florida where he took photos of those at Gil Crest Training Center and nearby locations.
Gillette is currently stationed at Spring Garden Ranch in DeLeon Springs, Fla. He has also added a drone to his options of photography and recently got some great shots overhead of Spring Garden Ranch.
In addition to visiting Standardbred racing facilities, Gillette also takes time out of his schedule to visit many of the nearby sites, including Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Fla. Gillette has a motor home and also takes an all-terrain vehicle with him for mobility while he’s in Florida.
