Flirtinwiththehelp made her second career start an impressive win against a tough field of freshman fillies in the second leg of the Two-Year-Old Fillies Oak Grove Sires Stakes Sunday, July 3 at Oak Grove. Guided by Trevor Smith, the filly earned her first trip to the winner’s circle in 1:59.3.

Flirtinwiththehelp, the highest priced yearling sold at auction from the first crop of Helpisontheway, broke her maiden in Sires Stakes action at Oak Grove Sunday, July 3. Trevor Smith drove the filly for Trainer Todd Luther.
Starting from post four, Flirtinwiththehelp shot out of the starting gate and was on top by five at the quarter in :27.3. She continued to have a big lead at the half in :59.1 before the field began to close in. Around the final turn, horses fanned out three wide to challenge, but it was Shopping in Paris and Tony Hall who had been following along in second and had the best shot to catch Flirtinwiththehelp. She came up on the leader in the stretch but Flirtinwiththehelp fended her off, winning by a half-length. Shopping in Paris was a length and a half in front of Las Alturas for third. Verlin Yoder finished fourth with Yo Rebecca, a daughter of Bar Hopping.
Flirtinwiththehelp was a longshot, paying $35.00 for the win. The Helpisontheway filly is trained by Todd Luther and is owned by Black Magic Racing LLC. Hayley and James Moore of Kentucky bred the Indiana sired filly who is also a registered Kentucky bred. It was her second career start after finishing fourth in the first leg of the Sires Stakes. She had one qualifier at Delaware County Fairgrounds to prep her for her racing debut.
Flirtinwiththehelp is from the first crop of Helpisontheway. She is also the latest foal out of Classical Flirt who is the dam of Market Share, winner of $3 million dollars with a mark of 1:50.2. Flirtinwiththehelp was the highest priced yearling by Helpisontheway last year, bringing $50,000 in the Blooded Horse Sale last August.
