Included in the lineup for the Invitational Pace is a matchup between the track’s top two trainers, Jamie Macomber and Jeff Cullipher. Macomber sends out 2017 Breeders Crown champ Beckhams Z Tam from post three at odds of 5-2 and Cullipher has Endeavor starting from post seven as the favorite at 2-1. Beckhams Z Tam has won three races this season with a best time of 1:49.0. Endeavor has been a winner in 13 of 31 starts for 2018 with a best time of 1:48.3. Ricky Macomber Jr. drives Beckhams Z Tam while Trace Tetrick will be behind Endeavor.
Last season Macomber and Cullipher shared the Leading Trainer title. This year, Cullipher is leading heading into the final night with 117 wins compared to Macomber’s 113. Trace Tetrick will earn another Leading Driver title with 305 wins heading into the last night of action. Horse of the Meet honors go to Always A Prince, who has won 18 of 20 outs this year at Harrah’s Hoosier Park.
Also, a $20,000 guaranteed Pick 4 will be offered on the final night of racing. A carryover from Friday’s program of $4,385.17 will get the pool started for the Saturday card.
