Fresh on the heels of Breeders Crown weekend at Harrah’s Hoosier Park, Indiana horsemen and horsewomen are gearing up for the final sales of the year. The fourth annual Midwest Mixed Sale is set for Tuesday, Nov. 24 and the Michiana Classic Yearling Sale is set for Wednesday, Nov. 25, both at the Michiana Event Center in Shipshewana, Ind. and both sales starting at Noon. Entries for both sales are now available online.

The Midwest Mixed Sale currently has 118 entries, including the annual reduction consignment of three-year-olds from the Jack Myers Racing Stable. Included in the consignment are several from the Indiana Sired Fair Circuit (ISFC) this season such as J-S Jasper, winner of the three-year-old trotting colt and gelding Governor’s Cup Championship. Other standout racehorses in the sale include Hip No 114, Always Giggling (1:50.3, $487,098), and Shady Caroline, Hip No. 115 (1:50.2, $399,362).
The Mixed Sale also includes several broodmares in foal, including Hip No. 59 Breath of Life, carrying her first foal by first crop sire Captain Crunch. The Western Ideal mare is a full sister to Lifetime Star, the dam of Bettors Wish, winner of more than $2.4 million with a mark of 1:47.3.

The annual Midwest Benefit Dinner and Fundraiser will be held immediately following the sale Tuesday. The event will feature breedings to many stallions with all proceeds going to the fundraiser.
