The end of a year also means preparations are underway for the future. With the conclusion of 2019 comes numerous deadlines for registrations and nominations, both at the state and national level.

Several deadlines for Standardbred racing are approaching on Dec. 31, 2019.
In the state of Indiana, all foals born in Indiana must be registered within 30 days of the foaling date to avoid late fees. After that time, foals may be registered with a late fee of $200 no later than Dec. 31, 2019 of their weanling year. In addition, stallion registrations after the Oct. 1, 2019 deadline may be submitted with a late fee. Nationally, 2019 Foal Registrations with the U.S. Trotting Association are due by Dec. 31, 2019. Mating Certificates are also due by that date to get the $185 pricing for foal registrations. Online access is available through the USTA’s My Account. Broodmares can be marked with Live Foal or No Foal through the online system.
