Cruzinforavictory was on cruise control Tuesday, April 11, scoring a win in the $15,000 Junior Open. The Indiana sired mare scored the comfortable win in 1:55.0, a final quarter in :27.4.

Starting from post five, Cruzinforavictory opted to stay off the early lead and fell back into the spot next to last as several lead changes took place before the half in :57.1. Shield Maiden and Corey Callahan were the third leaders of the race and led the field into the stretch the first time heading to the half in :57.1. As the field came off the second turn, Cruzinforavictory, driven by Ross Wolfenden, swung out to begin the second flow of traffic and immediately flushed out cover from Beyond Words N and Jason Thompson.
Beyond Words N could not get past Shield Maiden past the three-quarters and Cruzinforavictory noted that, moving three wide in the turn to get some momentum going. In the stretch, Cruzinforavictory picked up the pace to rally home by one and one-quarter lengths over Beyond Words N for the win. Nikasa N and Montrell Teague moved up late on the outside to finish third.
Cruzinforavictory paid $6.60 as the favorite of the field. The eight-year-old daughter of Hypnotic Blue Chip is owned, bred and trained by Jeff Clark. The mare has spent her entire career in the Delmarva area. To date, she has 27 wins in 173 starts with more than $350,000 on her card. Her career best time of 1:53.0 was taken when she was a six-year-old at Rosecroft Raceway.
Another Indiana sired winner on the night at Harrington Raceway was Townline Glory in the conditioned pace for fillies and mares. Starting from post eight, Townline Glory and Jason Thompson got to the lead early and fended off opponents in the middle stages of the race before coming back and getting the win by three-quarters of a length over West River Glo and Tony Morgan. Beauty Bling and Barton Dalious finished third.
Townline Glory paid $21.20 for the win. The four-year-old mare is by Luck Be Withyou. She is now owned and trained by Ronald Short. Elmer Yoder bred the mare.
