Heading into the final week of racing for 2022, Indiana sired Crescent Beauty leads the way among all three-year-olds with 16 wins this year. The three-year-old filly last raced the first week of November at Pocono Downs to hold the title for both trotters and pacers.

Crescent Beauty began her career in the Doug Rideout barn as a two-year-old, taking her best mark of 2:04.0 at the Jay County Fairgrounds and winning six of 14 starts on the Indiana Sired Fair Circuit (ISFC). This season, she returned to the ISFC and won 10 consecutive races from mid-June through mid-August before finishing second in the Governor’s Cup Championship at the Indiana State Fair. Following a start in the ISA Elite races at Indianapolis in late August, she was sold and moved to the Lance Hudson barn.
Crescent Beauty quickly paid off for her new connections. She won her first start at Pocono Downs and followed that up with a win at Yonkers. After a third place finish at Yonkers, she returned to Pocono Downs and reeled off three straight wins to complete her sophomore campaign. Anthony Napolitano was behind the Crescent Fashion filly in four of her five wins since leaving Indiana.
To date, Crescent Beauty has 16 wins in 29 starts and has only been off the board four times this year. She has earned $77,000 in her campaign. Following along closely in second place on the leaderboard is Gracious Triumph, a trotter with 15 wins who made her last start at Northfield Dec. 14 for trainer-driver Keith Kash, and is in to go Wed. Dec. 21 at Northfield Park.
The other three-year-old behind Crescent Beauty is Therealprincess, a pacing filly who also has 15 wins in 16 starts and last raced in late October. She has been competing at tracks in the maritimes, including Truro Raceway, Inverness, and Charlottetown Driving Park. After the top three, there are six sophomores with 14 wins on the year, including Indiana sired Ponda Adventure, who was 14 for 18 in 2022.
Crescent Beauty is now owned by William Hartt of Carmel, Maine. The filly, who is out of the Valley Victor mare Overt with a mark of 1:55.4 and more than $159,000 in earnings, was bred by Peter Schmucker Jr. She heads into her four-year-old season with a stat line of 22 wins in 43 starts and more than $92,000 in earnings. Her career best time of 1:55.3 was taken in her very last start of 2022 at Pocono Downs.
