Standardbred racing’s brightest stage lit up the night Friday, Oct. 27 with the first session of the prestigious Breeders Crown featured on the evening. Several Indiana horses competed in the events and were also included in several of the undercard races, including the $60,000 Pegasus for three-year-old filly pacers.

Tell’s On A Roll and Dexter Dunn began their race from post six and got away in mid pack as TR’sshining Sar and Travis Robinson set the first fraction of :26.0 before Rollin Rosie and Trace Tetrick took over at the half in :54.1. That prompted the outer flow of traffic to form, which included Tell’s On A Roll in perfect second over fashion.
In the stretch, Tell’s On A Roll did just that, got on a roll and cruised by her opponents for the win in 1:50.1. Queen’s Reign and John DeLong finished second over Horizontal and Scott Zeron for third.
Tell’s On A Roll paid $4.80 for the win. The Tellitlikeitis filly is trained by Tyler George and owned by Engel Stable of IL, Tony Willinger, and T G Stable. Victory Hill Farm bred the filly. The mile was near the filly’s career best time of 1:50.0 and the Indiana Sires Stakes Super Final winner now has more than $270,000 on her card this year. Overall, she has nine wins and more than $339,000 in earnings.
Breeders Crown events were held toward the end of the 15-race program. Full coverage of all Breeders Crown events will be featured in the special edition of the Indiana Standardbred Association’s November issue covering the entire event at Harrah’s Hoosier Park.
