Boogie on Down, the homebred daughter of Skydancer Hanover, was a surprise winner Sunday, March 15 in the $12,000 Fillies and Mares Open. Driven by Kyle Wilfong, the six-year-old mare had a perfectly timed move to score the win by one-half length in 1:54.3.

Starting from post one, Boogie on Down got away in mid pack as Dee Rocks, another Indiana sired mare by Rockin Image, and Ridge Warren swept three wide into the first quarter before grabbing the lead. Fractions slowed in the middle of the race before Wilfong was able to find racing room and move up for the stretch drive.
In the stretch, Boogie on Down never gave up, wearing down her opponents for the win, which paid $37.00 to win. Look Kimbo and Cordarius Stewart finished second over Debt Motivated and Ross Leonard for third.
It was the third win in five starts for Boogie on Down in 2020. She now has 17 career wins and boosted her career earnings over the $180,000 mark with her latest victory. Brett Wilfong trains for owners Lynn, Barbara, Brett and Candice Wilfong. Lynn and Brett serve as the breeders of the mare.
