Beckham’s Z Tam, the standout pacer from the Jamie Macomber Stable, will take on a fierce group of competitors in the $500,000 Ben Franklin Final at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Poconos Saturday, June 29. Beckham’s Z Tam has drawn post three in the nine-horse lineup.

Beckham’s Z Tam goes into the contest with two wins this season. The Indiana sired horse, who won the Breeders Crown at Harrah’s Hoosier Park in 2017, started out the year racing on the East. His quickest win this year was in May at Harrah’s Hoosier Park in 1:49.2, and he paced in 1:48.0 in Indiana a week later, finishing second behind Castle Flight’s track record setting performance in 1:47.2. Beckham’s Z Tam will be seeking his 18th career win in his 58th career start in the Ben Franklin Final with David Miller at the controls.
Owned by Z Tam Stables, Beckham’s Z Tam finished third in his Franklin elimination. He will most likely see his biggest competition from McWicked, who has drawn post one with Brian Sears driving.
The Ben Franklin Final is slated as the 11th race on the card at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono. Estimated post time is 10:22 p.m.
